SURGERY OF THE ARMS - BRACHIOPLASTY
Plastic surgery of the arms has restricted indications for patients
that have great tissue flaccidity on the arms in such way that, with
the arms open, an abundant hanging “surplus” is quite conspicuous.
Since this surgery results in a scar that travels from the armpit
to the elbow at the inner face of the arm, it is necessary that the
patient is very sure that the residual scar will be less important
than the deformity he intends to treat.
When well indicated and accepted, the results are very compensating
and gratifying.
It is a minor/medium operation, demanding a one day hospitalization
and immediate recovery takes place in 8 to 10 days.
